Hello flyingfarmer, and everyone.

Let me answer :)

1.) The compass left of the artificial horizon looks a little unsharp and 2D...is this the final version?
No, not final, looks unsharp because incorrect glass reflection I think, should work on it some more.

2.) are the gauges schowing the right readings in this stage?
Do not got the question...

3.) Will special engine falitures be modelled?
We do not plan it now

4.) is this a rocket firing in the second last pic?!
Yes it is, signal rockets same as real Birddogs used in Vietnam and Korea

5.) Will the switches have click-sounds?
Sure it will.

6.) Wat's the soundset in general like?
Done by MeatWater ;)

Thank you very much, Andrey.

2.) are the gauges schowing the right readings in this stage?
Do not got the question...
Should say: Are all the gauges (and flight dynamics) ready programmed and working? (because this is usually a late/ last step in developing...model -> textures -> gauges -> flight dynamics...am I right? )

I just :smt007 the pictures of the Bird dog! Looks outstandig!

Hi,
I have some obsevations about s/n 072809, that was an O-1D: for a Viet Nam era bird, the FM antenna on top of the wing must be longer. Also the star & bars insignia it's wrong shaped. It's missing also the underbelly VHF antenna. The O-1E Nam version has armored seat- not sure if this version will be done.
Don't take that as criticism, I just like the things to be well done.
Very good modeling until now and I'm sure, many people is glad that sibwings is back to this project.
Best regards to everyone

Yes, but I don't have the patience or a machine that can run Fraps and FSX smoothly, it's best I leave this to the professionals, such as Cody at Jaggyroad films.

Thanks for the kind words.

Nick, why don't you like self-shadow feature ? :)
Cool screens btw, even surprised we do that :)

Sorry Andrey, I'll turn it on for future shots.

I have shadows turned off because my machine needs all the help it can get and I find shadows are one thing that eats up resources. I've also always felt that the shadows generally look very jagged and unreal. It's not a reflection of your product, I had them turned off prior to looking at the Bird Dog.

It's not problem, Nick, even without screens looks very realistic! However, it's interesting how they would looks with.

That isn't a problem. You can record at half speed and set the video to play back at twice the speed in the video editor, effectively doubling the framerate that you are getting while recording with Fraps. Downside: you will have to record without sound and add it back in during video editing. That may interfere with the patience part, though. ;)

Hello Nick,

are your shots taken in DX9 or DX10 mode?

May I ask you for two more shots, showing the plane with open doors / windows or a night / dusk / dawn image?

Would be verry kind.

Greetings

I'm waiting patiently but hopefully for this magnificent bird. I built my own back in FS95 when it was relatively easy, but was always too intimidated to give it a shot in the newer FS versions.

72809 should also have painted wheel hubs, a Pacific Air Forces shield on the tail and a figure that's been described as a dragon, but looks like a flying dog to me on the rudder.

Hope to see in her in FSX soon

Sorry to have to say this guys but those pilots look a bit weird - any chance of making them a bit more human?

Nick - the shots are OK but flat without self shads

Well... life is life, simulator is simulator... maybe in FS12 we would animate emotions on pilot's face :) But now sorry, all we can do is correct proportion, and some animation... maybe just add aviation glasses ? 8)

As for self-shadow it's all ok with it... I understand Nick. I'm myself do not like this feature to much, just cause sometimes it is not looks very realistic on my PC..
