Hello friends!

Here's the first SAAB 91 Safir update :D :D :D

* CTD (All versions)
* Dyrectional Gyro: right indication and movement direction (HB-DBL)
* Dyrectional Gyro: vibration and rotation fixed (All except HB-DBL)
* Dyrectional Gyro: random breake factor and drift were added (All except HB-DBL)
* Dyrectional Gyro: sinchronization with CoPilot DG (S91B)
* Signal and NAV lights (S91C, S91D)
* Static aircraft position (All)
* Second Attitude movement (S91D)
* Fuel Quantity indicator with PowerOff (S91B)
* VOR indicator (HB-DBL)
* Turning COM and NAV via standart key events (HB-DBL)
* Open canopy during taxing (All)
* And some other small bugs were fixed

Later we'll make one more update with other bugs if any

I had a quick flight on HB-DBL, and found some job for you for update 2:

The VOR needle moves to the oposite direction from the way it should. If you drift left from the beam the needle moves to the left instead to the right and vise-versa. Same happens when you turn the VOR course dial trying to set your current radial (opposite needle movement).

Also, can you please make the course dial move a little bit faster?

Also, if you (accidently of course) open the canopy mid-flight the 'canopy-open' sound still repeats until after you've landed. I think the taxi speed/canopy open limit could be increased just a little more too!

I am thrilled with your wonderful Liveries that you have developed. I can only imagine intricacies. I just want to mention a few anomalies have popped up since your Last (Posted: Sat Sep 23, 2006 8:37 pm. Post subject: Update 1) release.

But first let me say that time and effort that your group has put into this project is quite outstanding. Everything is so thought-out and well done. I would highly recommend your product to any simmer. Awesome job!!

A few things that I have noticed aside from what you already are aware of:

1. Night flying Sequence 91D Safir HB-DBL, 91B (turning off everything after landing) Instrument lights won’t go off. Shut every switch off (battery switch last) Fast blinking on-off occurs in all instrument lights. I know they are Automatic, but they should shut off. On the 91D Finnish Air Force Blinking occurs on Airport runway lights and signage. Maybe manual “off-on” works!!

2. Gear lock down light not glowing or testing blue in the 91D HB-DBL and suction gauge not illuminated.

Honestly I’m not trying to be too critical about your design, but you are so close to PERFECT why not go all the way?

Side Note:
Love all of your "Easter Eggs" Overhead blinds, Door and window latches, Clock Bezel movement, Engine cover, Chocks and dipped elevator in full park position, moving dials switches, fold down map/panel light, and who knows what more I will discover.

Hi,

is it just me or is the directional gyro in the HB-DBL model wrong? The calibration knob doesn't work and the direction indication differs from the compass by 180 degrees.

I installed and re-installed the patch and I am sure that the files were updated (I have made a backup of all Safir files before updating).

Am I doing something wrong (quite possible)? :D

I haven't this problem.
For callibration DG use mouse buttons.

Are you sure you install update1 to right folder ?

Hello Alex,

I installed the Safir in my secondary FS installation called "Flight Simulator 9 VFR" which doesn't have an entry in the registry. The swsafir.gau never got updated when I installed Update1. Tried a few times to no avail. Funny thing is, that the .cab file was updated...

Today I reinstalled the Safir in the regular FS installation and the .gau file got updated (8th Sept), so all is well now.

My apologies for false alarm!

DANKE für das TOLLE update, aber
- das Fahrwerk hat immer noch 2 macken( vorderrad beim einfahren, hauptfahrwerk beim ausfahren)
- man sieht die trimmung in der außenansicht immer noch nicht arbeiten.

Alex, what he means...

Thank you very much for the update, but...
-The landing gear still has 2 bugs (nosegear at retraction, maingear at extension)
-You still can't see the trim working on the outside view.

A note for all the other:
I did just translate, I am *neutral* to the report of those bugs, ok?!?

The landing gear was discussed and is correct, NOT an error.

There are some other minor bugs I think.

-The EGT in the HB-DBL shows 5 pistons, but the IO-360 just has 4

-Another strange thing is the performance of the HB-DBL. It should habe 200hp, but it's v max is just 110 kts (that are just 203 km/h) at cruise flight settings, instead of identical cruise flight settings of the 91C and 91B 240 km/h with O435-A and 190 hp and 230 km/h of the Finnish 91D with 180 hp. It can't depend on the propeller, because the HB-DBL needs more runway for take off than the other versions of the Safir. So it seems the flight performance of the HB-DBL needs some rework.

-Further if you fly the plane upsite down, you hear the rpm fall of the engine, but the gauge doesn't show and decrease of the engine's rpm.

-If you stall the plane, there is a strange knocking sound, but no acoustic warning like a horn, whistle or bell. Is that correct?
