Directional Gyro

Post by NOA » 02 Sep 2006, 15:20

Hello,

Except HB-DBL, when I do a roll the directional gyro start to spin and there is no way to stop it. The directional gyro of the HB-DBL has a 180º discrepancy with the compass and I can´t ajust the heading with the knob (ie. compass heading 090º--> directional gyro shows 270º)

Regards,
Sergio

Hello Sergio!

First, Safir flying guide recommends to lock directional gyro before aerobatic
maneuvers ;)
...and we'll check it out, have been already informed, that some strange
things happens with this gauge in some conditions.

Hello Andrey,

I´m trying to find out how to lock the directional gyro

And yes the HB-DBL has definitely something wrong in my case. Just me or is a known issue now?

You did a great great job guys.

Thanks again

Sergio

Thanks for kind words, Sergio :)

...ahh if we are talking about HB-DBL it has vacuum-driven directional gyro, if I have no mistake, that means it shouldn't be locked duaring the maneuvers.

Need to call Daniel, he'll explane better :)

Have fun ;)

Beckmann hello!

I didn't get what did you want to say with screens :) ?

Hard work was done and on gauge logic as well, for sure some things were missing, we can promise we'll do our best fix them soon.

As I said, that directional gyro (in B, C and Finnish D) must be locked before aerobatics, HB-DBL has a different system and Gyro isn't locked there.

Hello Andrey,

I make no aerobatics with this great old aircraft :-D

I fly a normal flight and after few times the gyro rotate to the left site ?
And from the the CO the gyro rotate to the right site ?

Just to let you know that I have found an anomaly in the directional gyro in the Finnish Air Force D variant. The DG starts to have the jitters after around 5 minutes. It rocks at a high frequency about 2 or 3 degrees either side of the actual heading and won't stop...

By the way, you say that the DG should be locked before any aerobatics... where and how?

Hello Andrew!

Yep, we already know about that unnormal DG behaviour, thanks for formulating the reason more precisely :)

DG can be locked with middle mouse button, or if you use it for another FS function, by clicking on DG middle needle.

No worries, glad to be able to help...

And thanks for that info on the DG lock...
