P3Dv2

Post by Griphos » 22 Jan 2014, 04:04

I've searched the forums, but haven't found much of anything about whether any of Sibwings aircraft will be modified to work in P3Dv2. I sure hope so. I have all Sibwings aircraft, and they are some of my favorites for FSX. I realize it may not be a simple conversion, and I, for one, would be willing to pay something for P3Dv2 versions. I don't think I'll be using FSX much longer and hate the thought I won't be able to fly these great aircraft any more.

Any thoughts on if and which aircraft might be modified to work and be supported in P3Dv2?

I guess I'll take that as a, no, no thoughts on updating for P3Dv2. Shame. I'll certainly miss these planes.

Thanks for the links. I've read that last one, as it's the only thing my search turned up, but it's about v1.4, and nothing came of that, I guess. I'm talking about P3Dv2.

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to see in the first link. I know and watch that topic. I was asking if there are plans to make them fully compatible, with dedicated installers. I'm wary of importing stuff into P3D that isn't made to install in it. And P3Dv2 doesn't even have a dll.xml file to patch, so I'm not sure how the instructions for repairing a problem in v1.4 are supposed to help.

If you guys know how to get the AN-2, or any other Sibwings airplane working in v2, I'd sure like to know about it. That's why I'm writing on the support forum.

Griphos -

It works perfectly for me in P3D 2.1. Worked in 2.0 as well. Installed using the migration tool, then checked dll.xml as instructed in the other Sibwings forum. Taxi and landing light are a bit bright (blinding, in fact) with HDR on, but you get used to it. Otherwise no problems and a great flying experience as usual.
