Too high CHT

Post by wieteskaz » 14 Oct 2013, 21:28

Hi I found strange issue in AN-2, when I increase prop pitch to maximum before landing, cylinders temprature goes very high and I get smoke ( I have cowl flaps open for about 80-90 %) Watch this film http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BGQeU1nsjQ cowl flaps are open for about 50-70 % maybe less and before landing they incerease RPM lever to maximum. Anyone have idea what I'm doing wrong ?

P.S
Sorry for my poor english.

Sorry for pause,

An-2 engine is very sensitive to overheat, we try to simulate this. You may notice that an all photos of take off or landing cowl flaps are open.
We'll check out probably some tune is needed.

best,
Andrey

Thanks a lot :) Please, let me know if there's update with CHT tuned because it's one of the best addons of Russian-Polish plane ever realased for FSX :D (also better than Wilga from Aerosoft). You have done a great job with this bird.

Again sorry for my poor english

Just want to confirm that I'm working on this issue and shall be fixed in the next update. Also confirm that cowlings should be fully open and setting full RPM only on short final.
I have re-uploaded my public beta for testing with more cooling from the cowling flaps. Hope that cures the problem. The CHT ranges can be found in the flying guide.

I actually had the change to fly an An-2 yesterday and was paying particular attention to the development of oil and cylinder head temperature. It will take a few days to simulate that in FSX.

@metzgergva It's more than year since you told that you will simulate it in FSX and still no update :/
