Updater can't find FSX path?
Hello.
I'm running FSX under Windows 8, and have it installed in a specific directory on my C:\ drive.
I found the shortcut to the Updater under the Win8 Start menu, but when I attempt to run it I get an error message indicating "FSX detection error: Can't find FSX path!"
My install went without a problem, and I've been flying the An-2 since purchase.
This is my first SibWings product, so I am unfamiliar with how the updater works - if it is automatic or if I need to activate it.
Thank you.

Hello,
Thank for feedback, I'll send you updater with logging function, it's seems like updater can't find FSX directory from registery.
I'll contact with you later.

Does other installers work and do they find the FSX path in the registry? If not, then execute the Flight1 FSX Registry Repair Tool which can be found here:

Re: Updater can't find FSX path?
Kevin, all other installers work and have no difficulty finding the FSX path in the registry.
Thanks for the suggestion, but I will wait to hear back from Alex.

WH, Kevin says right thing, seems like your registry path for FSX is broken.
Could you please try to use this repair tool and give us feedback ?

I had the same problem. The path in the registry was correct but I still use the repair tool and then everything worked fine.
Thanks a lot to the great support.

Okay. I downloaded and used the repair tool.Alex wrote:WH, Kevin says right thing, seems like your registry path for FSX is broken.

FSX works fine, but the updater still cannot find the directory. I assume that I have to click on the updater application and it will find FSX for an update?? Anyways, that is what I'm doing and its still giving me the same error message.
As I indicated previously, I do not have a problem with any of my FSX installers or applications. Each one has found the directory without a problem except for the An-2 updater.
Thanks for trying.

Please do and notify me when ready. Thanks.Alex wrote:Seems like I need to change FSX Path check algorithm in Updater
One more comment. I noticed that there is an Update.txt in the folder that was modified this morning when I last flew the An-2. Does that mean anything??

Hello, i´m having this problem here too.
As i remember, i don´t have this problem with no other addon. Tried the flight1 tool, but with same results.
If a workaround is achieved, please publish in here to the other customers with the same problem.
I can send purchase information if it´s necessary. Thanks

Hi All
First - this is my first SibWings purchase and it is outstanding.
My question is - I run FSX on a PC that is NOT on the web...I used my laptop to d/l and then transferred to my PC
How Can I Update my Colt files?

frequently wrong - infrequently concerned about it - life goes on either way
Re: Updater can't find FSX path?
All updater will be included into installation package.
If you can't use Updater tool, you'll need download new installation package and install it over current An-2.

Re: Updater can't find FSX path?
I also had this problem. Tried the the Flight1 repair tool (which I've run before, many moons ago). Funnily enough, it cured the problem - even though all my other updaters have been working fine.
I re-downloaded the an2.exe just now and noticed it's a different file-size/version, but I didn't bother to re-install.
Adam.
