Antonov An-2 Released!

Post by Alex » 06 Jun 2013, 00:46

Dear friends!

The big day has come and we’re glad to announce the Antonov An-2 released!
This project is very special for our team. First, because the An-2 and SibWings team were born in one and the same city of Novosibirsk, USSR, with a 60 years difference in time. Second, because such a famous bird should be treated with a lot of care and accuracy. That’s why we’ve been approaching to this airplane for a long time, gaining experience and innovation in order to develop the best we can.
So, here you go – the Antonov An-2!

In this FSX package we offer you the most common An-2 twelve-seater passenger model, six repaints and a detailed user guide.

The main features include:
3D Models
• Accurate exterior and interior models developed specially for FSX
• HD textures with specular, bump and reflection maps
• FPS friendly
Panel & Gauges
• All gauges are developed with 3D parts
• Separately animated realistic needles shadows
• Most knobs have moving along shadows
• Panel surface contains bump-map
• Gauge glass has reflection and fingertips visible at a specific sun angle
• Realistic night light
• If you use DX10 you'll have dynamic shadows inside the cockpit
Systems
• Fully simulated electric system
• Partly simulated pneumatic system
• Realistic engine starting system (Ctrl+E doesn't work)
• Simulated engine overheat and engine fire, anti-fire system
Flight dynamics
• Accurate flight dynamics developed in close cooperation with the real An-2 pilots
Sounds
• Engine sounds recorded from the real aircraft
• Most switches, knobs and levers are sounded

Our promo price is 15.99 euro only! That’s the best price for a product like this on the market, but note that the price will grow as updates are released.

As usual we really appreciate any help with promotion (topics in local communities, screenshots, videos, etc.), so you’re welcome to share you’re An-2 impressions online.
Guess it’s enough said for now. Have fun flying the An-2!

It's all wonderful! Now if I could get the thing started!.....Yes, I've read the manual and not getting a lot of joy. :(
Computer: Black box with a bunch of electrical looking stuff inside. Lots of fans and blue lights and it sits there humming away gently and lets me play games on it.

Glad to hear you got it started Ron. I've read the manual over and over, watched a video Jeansy from OZX referred me to - tried over and over - it makes all the right noises, but just won't fire.
It eventually did once, and I really enjoyed a little flight ..... but I haven't been able to restart it since. I'm starting to headbutt brickwalls - I'm so frustrated as this is a magnificent bird - can't wait to master it!!

Is there a clue you or anyone could give me .... I must be missing something - but what ??

Cheers ,... Tom.

I noticed something in the manual that I'm not 100% sure about.. there's this page where it says what each button/gauge does. but In the check-lists a lot of them are referenced slightly different and then I go berserk, not knowing exactly which button is the right one. :|
