BirdDog update wishlist

Post by Alex » 24 Dec 2011, 20:23

Hello guys,

Now when Pitts Special is released we have time to spend on BirdDog update.
This topic is for you to share your wishes to be included into update.
You are welcome with any ideas, issues and bugs to be fixed :)

As your wishes come we'll make a list of them here and we'll keep you updated on the process of bugfixing.

Great news! :)

1. Fixing the ILS in the F-model:
- One cannot fly an ILS approach. Following the centered localizer needle during ILS approach the aircraft is always positioned somewhere far right hand off the runway.
(This problem is on all ILS supported airports)
- There is no "TO/FROM" indication on the instrument.

2. Fuel Select Valve:
Fuel Selector Valve in position "MAIN TANK" should allow fuel flow from the left tank and in position "AUX Tank" from the right tank.
Fact is that fuel is taken contrariwise i.e., position "MAIN" empties right tank, "AUX" empties left tank.
Greetings

Hello,

I've tried to "compile" all the stuff from the different topics: you'll find the result below, if it can help.

For my wish, perhaps the fact to change the load when we add a copilot or choose added tanks? I think the aircraft drag must be different; for example, to change the weight of the plane to the minimum?
Thanks in advance :)

From the topics:

- VOR/ILS deviation need to be fixed: see viewtopic.php?f=24&t=942
- amphibian sounds aren't cordinate to water splashes: see viewtopic.php?f=24&t=943
- the ADF and OBS aren't quite right as reported in another thread (ADF tuning dial marks don't agree with the tooltip and the OBS course tape doesn't agree with the tooltip, but neither of these seem correct): some informations here viewtopic.php?f=24&t=925
- hazardous gyro? does this information traducts a malfunction or is it normal? see viewtopic.php?f=24&t=700#p5529 please
- transponder problem: see viewtopic.php?f=24&t=877
- opened/closed door inverted? see viewtopic.php?f=24&t=880
- can't select some frequencies: perhaps to update the Birddog as explained here if you agree with the given explanations? viewtopic.php?f=24&t=875#p5197
- add this information in the documentation concerning ADF? see viewtopic.php?f=24&t=863 if you agree too
- synchronize sounds flaps with their movements? see viewtopic.php?f=24&t=855#p5042
- add one digit in some variants for the altimeter: see viewtopic.php?f=24&t=749 and perhaps to display or give the inches pressure if that doesn't betray the truth of the plane!
- frequencies selection showes bad digit: see viewtopic.php?f=24&t=850

Many thanks in advance for your further update!
I've tried my best: I'm confused if some of them are already corrected in the amphibian update, I'vent take the time to check them all :( :? :!:

Hello #2,

Added after my previous post because found in the "discussion forum", not in the "support forum":
- Fuel Select Valve problem: the issue is the tank selector valve coding not the tank position; see viewtopic.php?f=22&t=955 and viewtopic.php?f=22&t=853 please
- perhaps take care with the remark of a french L-19 pilot about engine power? see viewtopic.php?f=22&t=876
- ADF to complete previous post if it does make sense: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=873 and viewtopic.php?f=22&t=783

A NEW TIME, many thanks in advance

Hello,

I have gought you moderful model. I am exploring the features of the model which is one of my favorite. I have discovered a small bug with the carburator air lever position.

Référence
---------
[1] Cessna Aircraft Co. ; "F;ight Manual; L-19A, L-19E, TL-19A, TL-19E, OE-1";
T.O.1 L-19A-1; july 1959

In the real airplane flight manual [1]] tthe carburator air lever positions are describbed as follow:

"the carburator air lever positions are labeled RAM RAM FILTERED AIR (foward position) and HEAT (sft possition)"

We can see these markings on the engine quadrant of the model.

However, in the model, the carburator air lever positions are actualy inverse. That is the ram ifiltered air is in aft position. The lever have this position at the selection.

Otherwise the lever is properly working. But I woud like to suggest a correction of the carburator lever positiions in a future version of the wonderful model.

I hopee this may help you.

Have a good day.

Benoit

In progress, but not in priority. It will be released, right now I'm working on HD textures for BirdDog, but sorry can't say any exact date now, looks like it isn't nearest future. But it will be done.

Wait, you're working on HD textures for the Birddog??? Wow, that would be great. I still love this bird, it never bores me. Please consider the Tundra tire version though. That would make it the best bush plane I have.

Keep up the good work Andrey, really looking forward to it :)

I only have two comments to add to the wishlist, and that is the trim wheel on the L/H side of the console does not seem to work and needs to be enabled, and that ADF Signal indication loud beep needs to be sorted so it only comes on when the ADF signal is indicated, not all the time,

regards

I have only one thing that I feel needs sorting...The flaps sounds and synchronisation. The motor keeps running when the flaps have stopped moving. Other than that she is STILL in my top five!
Computer: Black box with a bunch of electrical looking stuff inside. Lots of fans and blue lights and it sits there humming away gently and lets me play games on it.
