The SAAB Safir was the primary trainer for Swedish airforce cadets for a long time, first Safir was taken into serve about 1947.
Later was the Safir substituted for the Bristol Bulldog and the SAAB 105 (SK60)

So whats more natural than merge the history into a picture :D
of these to lovelly birds.

I undestand the SAAB 105 , it's an evolution in the training methods with jets but..the Bulldog! (not Bristol but Scottish Aviation). Much better was to utilise Safirs ad-libitum instead !8)
Bulldog was a militarised version of a normal light utility plane with fixed gear , nothing more advanced than a Safir!
