What are you waiting from Saab Safir add-on ?

Post by Andrey » 19 Dec 2005, 00:11

Hello, friends!

Look, now work in deep progress we already have something to show you
in screenshors section, but it is still much more work (supposed release
date will be delayed for two months or so - it is only about quality of
job not about our laziness ;))

You have a great possibility here in this forum and topic to advise us any
feature you want to see in future project.

My own opinion that 80% of such (VFR) add-on's success is graphics.
Maybe 'cause I'm designer myself lol. So I promise outstanding
graphics as sampled engine or gears or animated roof-curtain.

All other aspects would be raised to the same level, we have connections with
real pilots, we have excellent programmers team - all gauges would be
simulated really, a lot of custom animation would be included.
In deed, we could load model by ANY animation you want and FS allows.

We are in negotiations with specialists about real sound recording.
We are trying to connect Saab for historical materials (unfortunately
no response from them now... maybe ask them together ;) ? lol Most
interesting to see a photos of first flights and chef designer.)
...and so on and so on.

...so as I said, aim of this topic is to hear your recommendations and
advises. We are really waiting for!

Andrey

For me, flight dynamics are most important.

Really happy you are developing this bird!! :D
I will pilot a 91 (C-version) in real life and I am really looking forward to fly yours in FS2004!
Will it be long before it is released?

Hello Knorren, can't say exactly date now, but suspect it's something near two-tree mounth. Working on details took us more time we expect, but it's just for quality.

PS One more real pilot :)! good very good we will have nice beta testers team ;)

A J Andersson, constructor of the SAAB Safir

Post by Tille » 05 Jan 2006, 12:24

Sorry about that! I tried to attach a BMP-fil.

Let's try again with a JPG-fil of A J Andersson, constructor of the SAAB Safir. :-)

Just before the outbreak of WW2 A J Andersson worked at the Bucker Airplane factory in Germany. In 1939 he moved back to Sweden, and was emediately employed by SAAB. There he started to work on the SAAB91, which would later receive it's final name "Safir".

Well, the floats were tried out for a period in the development stage of the Safir, but was finally, in 1947, rejected as SAAB was not totally saticefied with the test results. The floaters where constructed in Norway.

By the way, is the Andrey in this forum the same Andrey Tsvirenko that sent an e-mail to TeamM a few days ago? It was also on the subject SAAB Safir.

Andrey; Sorry to write to you in this way, but this is the only way to confirm that you are really you! :-)

If you are the same Andrey Tsvirenko that wrote to us, just confirm it with a reply.

Regards.

Well, I’m a retired flight-instructor and bush-pilot and my last flight as pic was in the above Safir May 9, 1993. Nowadays I fly FS9 and that’s why I look forward to fly the Lady from my armchair!
