Hi Guys,

We are trying to get some info about this bird, but no luck so far.
Does anyone know its history, where it's located now, etc. ?
We've found some info but do not have this language translator

Hello Inna,

I live in the Netherlands and I am one of the owners of the PH-RLA.
The link you gave brings you to a Saab forum for the Saab CAR.
One was telling that his grandfather was an instructor on this aircraft and thought that it used to be an aircraft like the RLA.
But it is an 91B and not an 91D so a few on that forum know more about cars then aircraft.

I phoned the owner and she told me that the RJB was build in 1954 by De Schelde. First registration was SE-XAU.
From 1958 till 68 it was property of Lufthansa with registration D-EBUC
From 1968 several German and Dutch owners. Presently for sale and stationed in EHMZ

Hello Inna,

From the same owner I got information about a book with ISBN nr 91-86642-00-6.
(edit: found a different ISBN for this book: 91-86642-01-4)
I did some search on the web and found a book with the titel:
Saab safir historien om ett skolflygplan : The story of a trainer
I hope it's the same book.
The book describes all Saab Safirs build and their history till 1990 (year of print) according to her.
For instance the RJB and RLA are mentioned in this book.

Maybe something for you? Although it is written in Swedish.

Can anybody in Sweden tell us more about this book? I like to have it!!

The book about SAAB Safir "Historien om ett skolflygplan" ( The story of a trainer ) is written by
Anders Annerfalk and Christer Sidelov

It can be orderd by depositing 225 SEK on "postgiro" 414 80 40-1..
You can also order the book via fax intcode+46 13 639 70 or 18 38 33. The price is still 225 SEK, but postage will be added.
