Johan,

Could you also *please* provide me with information?

We received invitation for the 2005-fly-in - when the bird wasn't ready to fly yet... :( - but none for the 2006...

If I can get the money together, I'd be happy to join...

And that would also have a special edge on it, since our Safir has supposedly never left central europe since it was delivered there... I think it would be nice to visit once the land where it came from...

Cheers,

Daniel

PS @ SW-team:
Wouldn't it be fun, if you guys would join us for the last leg of the fly-in?
I suppose there should be at least 3 planes which are piloted by someone that is known in this forum... ;)

Of course I´ll provide more info as info is released! :)
Everybody are more than welcome of course!

I will talk to Per and see if we already now can find out what preliminary date it is and so.

*dreaming*

Maybe another pic with all of us? :)

I'm getting excited by the mere thought of it... :)

You know, guys, it might be a bit startling to see someone explain the Safir to others but knowing that this very person has not touched, not even seen up-close and in reallife, a Safir before... :)

I have also heard some rumors about a meeting in 2007 at Säve.....
I live only 40 km from that airport but I have to go 100 km in the other direction to pick a up a Safir :-D

An educated guess is that there will be a guided tour in this place:

I'll let you all know as soon as I hear something

Best regards,

Håkan

I will to my best to try to bring over LN-SAP or LN-SAO

Gothenburg Fly In - to be or not to be?

Post by FreeBird » 11 Sep 2006, 16:44

Hello Folks!

There seem to be five Safir 91Ds still flying in Finland according the Finnish Civil Aviation Authority (SUMMARY OF
THE FINNISH AIRCRAFT REGISTER).
Shouldn't we ask them to join us in Gothenburg?
I could start asking, if I'd just let to know the exact date...

Some new facts (no rumours) !

I've spoken to the organizer of the Safir meeting in Gothenburg today and he told me this:

-The exact date has yet to be decided

-No plans have been made so far except that a few people have volounteered to arrange the meeting. (It looks as if I just got myself an even heavier workload) :D

The arrangement will be made in co-operation with Aeroseum, and GVFS (Göteborgs Veteranflygsällskap or Vintage Aviation Society of Gothenburg)

http://www.aeroseum.se/

http://www.ksak.se/klubbar/GoteborgsVeteranFS/

If it will be a one- or two-day arrangement has yet to be decided. We will of course help out with accomodation arrangements for those of you who wish.

You can all be assured that I will keep you informed as soon as I get some new information.

Best regards,

Håkan
