Can't use the COM Radio? - SOLVED

Hi Everyone.

I am embarrassed to ask, but could anyone tell me how to operate the COM radio in the Safir? I have flown it many times, but have never been able to communicate with ATC. On the 91B model (which has no separate radio power switch), I am able to turn on the Bendix radio, open the ATC window and even manually tune the Bendix to the correct frequencies. However, I am unable to communicate - my pilot will NOT say the selected message! I also am unable to receive any messages from ATC. I have tried to turn the Mics "on" but nothing works. I probably am missing something simple, but I have never had this problem with any of the many other payware add ons I have. Otherwise, I love the Safir! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.

Just tried again with the 91C model - DC power on, Battery on, Radio power switch on, Bendix on, open ATC window, but nothing! Can't hear ATIS, can't communicate with tower or ground. Also, no GPS power - shift+2 brings up the GPS panel, but I can't turn it on. The airplane starts up fine and is running. Tried all the possible mic settings but nothing works. Is no one else having this problem?

OK, problem solved.

First off, sorry for not posting this in the "Support" forum - I just realized there was one.

Second, after perusing the Support forum, I found that the solution to this exact issue was posted by rprachun in this thread:

Even if all radio switches are correctly set, it seems that the radio and GPS will not turn on unless you assign a key to "Avionics Master" in the FSX Controls and activate it when running the Safir. Even though this function does not correlate to any switch on the VC, the Safir launches with the Avionics Master set to off and there is no way to turn this on using the VC. Hope this helps anyone with the same problem.
