Re: Cessna L-19/O-1 Bird Dog flight behaviour

Hi mos, "What is the specific name in FSX "Buttons/Keys assignments, for what the "middle mouse button" do when it "cage", the gyro, if any" That's what I was trying to find last night/the early hours. I couldn't find anything to help sorry. I didn't know you had other software that uses the middle ...

Re: Fuel Select Valve problem

I don't doubt you for a minute Dieter, I was saying that mine is no longer set up as default. I purposely set mine up so when the switch is in one position ie. the main tank position, the fuel is taken from the LEFT tank. When the switch is in the other position the fuel is taken from the RIGHT tank...

Re: Cessna L-19/O-1 Bird Dog flight behaviour

Sorry Ron not with you :) Assigning a key to that function will definitely reset the gyro, so that's half the battle. I've just tried a few combos to "simulate" a middle mouse button, and failed miserably lol. What can one do if one doesn't have a wheel, or middle mouse button? Is there no default k...

Re: Cessna L-19/O-1 Bird Dog flight behaviour

Sorry mos I neglected to say how you cage the gyro, my bad. Ron is correct though, I do use the middle mouse button. On my mouse it's actually a scroll wheel, when pushed becomes the middle mouse button. The "D" key on the keyboard is the FSX default for "Heading Indicator (reset)" I notice you say ...

Re: Fuel Select Valve problem

To be honest I can't remember what position the lever used to be in for each respective tank. I have set up FSUIPC for a joystick hat switch to switch my tanks, and the flight I just did the Main tank is indeed on the left wing, so the AUX tank is on the right wing. When I flick my hat switch on the...

Re: Cessna L-19/O-1 Bird Dog flight behaviour

Press the "D" key on the keyboard to stop the gyro spinning continuously. If that doesn't work, cage it, then uncage it, then press the "D" key. Both work for me, so I don't see anyone else having a problem :)

Re: At last! The whinging stops.

HI THERE flya150, loud enough for ya :) Yeah I did some testing early this morning, but I wasn't sure I installed correctly, because I still had my "old" folders in there. I uninstalled everything BirdDog, and reinstalled from the latest download. Flap sync still out, but haven't flown yet. Will tes...

Re: At last! The whinging stops.

Now I've got the same problem, sounds not syncing with flap animation. I'm gonna go back to my first version if this ain't fixed quick :(

Re: Cessna L-19/O-1 Bird Dog flight behaviour

Re-installed the BirdDog and flaps sound issue has gone away. Well that's good news Ron, glad to hear you got that little mystery sorted :) @ Jigsaw, The thing I find about forums, is they take an enormous amount of time reading them to catch up with what's going on. Personally, I'd prefer A...

Re: Cessna L-19/O-1 Bird Dog flight behaviour

My friend saw this thread the other day, and he tested HIS bird dog and had the same results I did, all seemed synced up no problem. I mention this because he has a different set up to me. He runs W7 64bit. One thing he did mention that I didn't even think about, was DRIVERS. They DO play a very big...

Re: Cessna L-19/O-1 Bird Dog flight behaviour

Yeah, my bad, it was a typo, it IS 1,114,112 bytes. It's not really trouble, I was interested to know if there were any differences in the file dates really. And to be honest, if no one says, hey this is my system and all works fine here, no one can eliminate that criteria in the problem solving pro...

Re: Cessna L-19/O-1 Bird Dog flight behaviour

Okay, just looked at, and played my swflaps.wav file, it lasts 6 seconds on my PC, with about 1 second of silence at the end. But in game, it starts when I hit the flap lever, and stops exactly when the flap stops. This is the same for all notches down, AND all notches up. I tested it 4 times at lea...

Re: Cessna L-19/O-1 Bird Dog flight behaviour

@ Ron, Hi again, "Tell me, does the flaps sound sync with the flaps animation on the first notch?" Well I just tested it, and I can say without a shadow of a doubt, my sound is synchronised with the animation perfectly on ALL notches of the flaps. The only "stray" sound I have is the funny pump whir...

Re: Cessna L-19/O-1 Bird Dog flight behaviour

Hi Ron, Firstly I must say that I prefer to fly Helicopters, the Dodo being my helicopter of choice. I don't like flying planes much at all. This plane, however, has changed my view though, I'm really enjoying it. As it happens I find take offs okay if you do it right. I take off using NO flaps, (fl...

Re: Cessna L-19/O-1 Bird Dog flight behaviour

Hi everybody, I've read all this stuff, and I'm totally confused. I bought the Bird Dog, what was it, two days ago now? Yeah a couple of days. I mostly checked out the forums to see if there were any really decent paints for it. (I never really like to use the default paints, they aren't "personal" ...
