Is the Artificial Horizon backwards?

Something kept bothering me about the artificial horizon. Which is the aircraft datum and which is the lubber line? It seemed wrong, so I checked with a real cockpit shot: http://s20.postimg.org/y1sb2e5a5/an2_ai_01_1200.jpg http://s20.postimg.org/dvot3i9ml/an2_ai_02_1200.jpg Both shots have the airc...

Re: Fuel pump and primer shortcuts request

I'd love a shortcut for the oil cooler doors as well as the red fuel valve lever. I've got nearly all of the controls there mapped to my Saitek throttle quads except for those two. I have the oil cooler (cowl) flaps mapped via FSX - no need for FSUIPC as they're standard FSX. You may need to add th...

Thanks for that, Dave - works a treat! No sounds, but at least they work!

How did you dig out the event codes for these two?

Re: Eye point height

Your freedom do set it as you want. Some are taller, some are smaller and each pilot has his reference points like you just said. My solution was to set up a new camera viewpoint in OPUS - the "poke your head out of the left hand window" peek view, but with the zoom set to 100%. I found the default...

Re: Cannot Start Engine!

First SibWings product - looks like a lovely aircraft at a great price! However, I have followed the checklist numerous times and the engine will not turn-over nor the prop will move - lots of sounds but no 'action'! Sounds like you're not clicking the inertia switch a second time (to the right) <?...

Problem solved - thank you! :)

I also enjoyed playing with the cargo door while I was at it ... amazing!

Fuel pump and primer shortcuts request

I'm now seriously addicted to the An-2 - and have been trawling YouTube for videos. In many of them, I see the pilots furiously cranking the fuel pump handle whilst starting up (as well as working the throttle backwards and forwards). Is there a way a shortcut could be added for the fuel pump handle...

Re: Antonov An-2 Loadmanager

Thank you Adam for your input. Can you just explain me a bit more about point 1) please? Do you mean to clear the values in the LM itself or in FSX? When I am back at home I will check all that again. 2) if you want to add passengers, simply click on their seats (those boxes). The number of passeng...

I just turn everything off and then save the flight (in FSX). Most switch positions seem to be honoured - the one exception I can find is the fuel cut off lever at the far right of the throttle area.

Re: An-2 Loadmanager

Kevin! Please don't interrupt your holiday (I think I had one of those once, LOL) ... but I've spotted a couple of possible bugs for you to get your teeth into when you get back! 1) The LM doesn't seem to clear any existing values in fuel/weight first, so you sometimes get some unbelievably fat pass...

Erratic stairs short-cut toggle

This is hardly earth-shatteringly important, but my CTRL-SHIFT-2 shortcut for toggling the external stairs seems to have a mind of its own. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Sometimes I can "retract" the stairs but then can't make them re-appear. My passengers are suing me for broken ankles!! I can...

Re: Updater can't find FSX path?

I also had this problem. Tried the the Flight1 repair tool (which I've run before, many moons ago). Funnily enough, it cured the problem - even though all my other updaters have been working fine. I re-downloaded the an2.exe just now and noticed it's a different file-size/version, but I didn't bothe...

Re: Real World Manual (English)

Alex - thanks for both of those. They're really quite useful. The Mielec document may be worth re-working - replacing all the scanned text and re-using the existing diagrams. I could do it gradually, over time. Would there be any copyright issues, do you think? I'd be more than happy to donate the r...

Real World Manual (English)

Does anyone know if there's a real world operating manual for the An-2 available (in English) somewhere?

Whilst the Sibwings manual is a work of art, I'd like to know a bit more about engine management etc.

I have to agree. This is a stunning piece of work. So much attention to detail ... and such a joy to fly. I only got to hear of this via the ORBX forums, and it's already the talk of the forum there! Congratulations! :smt023
