Re: Pitts Special!
Well, there might be "many Pitts's out there", cbris, but there are no good ones. I think I have every one that's made, but the IRIS Eagle is the best of the bunch, with very good flight dynamics, realistic sound.

Re: New 21st RAC Repaint Available
Got the whole thing, gentlemen! Many thanks! NOW we get rice paddies and endless bush.. I installed it last night and flew out of DaNang on about 280 in the general direction of An Khe, just sightseeing, but haven't downloaded any of the war maps yet, so didn't reach it. Will do that tonight, and ge...

Re: New 21st RAC Repaint Available
Microsoft sure didn't spend much time on creating a realistic Vietnam, did they! Da Nang is there, but flying west it's just like flying over Britain. Even the bush doesn't look like bush. What a let-down.

Just a quick FSX aircraft path correction, Jim :-

Re: Just a great aircraft
heehee! say "Thank you, pj" Andrey - send me $5.00! Seriously though - I'm glad that did the trick. I fly the Leonardo MD-80 a couple or three times a week, Ron, and it's the very devil if you don't do that default flight properly. A number of parameters are passed from the default flight to the new...

Re: Just a great aircraft
OK - If the default flight aircraft was saved with the radio masters "off" - there will be no radio or gps with the "B" version. I don't know about the others.. If the default aircraft is saved with the radio masters "on" - then there will be radio & gps. So... After about ten minutes into the fligh...

Re: Just a great aircraft
Hmmmmph! Really strange. Well I can only think it must be some difference in the code, Ron. Maybe Alex can give you an answer. I haven't flown her in a while, but I'll play with it sometime later on this week, and see if I can replicate it.

Re: Just a great aircraft
Ron - how do you set up your default flight - and if not done so recently - try setting up a new one, with everything off except the radio switches: leave them "on". I'm talking about the Cessna 172. Then launch that first and then switch the Cessna out and the Safir in.

You're right, Ronnie; I might include the Safir as well, though. But I like the concept.
Andrey - Ron wants you to change your logo! Everybody here thinks it's a great idea! When can you have it in place so that we can get a look at it?

Re: Cessna L-19/O-1 Bird Dog flight behaviour
Hi Mos; Are you by any chance using FSUIPC? There was a similar problem over at the SibWings BirdDog forum this week:- Finally I managed to find and fix it. And the problem was in the FSUIPC where the " Use mousewheel for trim " was checked. I un-checked this choice and all is now OK. Also, I am usi...

Re: Cessna L-19/O-1 Bird Dog flight behaviour
Mos - there was no "fight" that you allude to. You were posting your changes to the fdx while all the time knowing that there was a team of testers with a developer working on the new fdx. What would have been prudent - and mannerly - was for you to have contacted SibWings privately, and volunteered...

Re: Nothing to do with updates
This is beautiful, Rich. It's a pretty useful pdf, so thanks!
Yeah - for GA and testing the BD the OrbX PACNW and AWO Arlington is my home base, too - as it's very frame-friendly, has good runways and approaches, and is well-positioned for excursions "up-country".

Re: BOOK ; 'MY year in Viet Nam"
Hey, Rich; Ron and I are good buddies and we like to joke about a bit on the forum. My "bash" was at him - not yourself - but apologies nevertheless  . (and no-one I know who flew any combat duty was a "hillbilly"!!) We both have good experience with the old BD, and are now involved in the tes...
