The Safir is truly an amazing add-on. Like Steve said: is there anything else? :D

Hi Steve! Wow, another beautiful repaint! I really like the elegant lines of the Lufthansa livery and you captured it perfectly. Can't wait to try it... great work! :) As for your question, yes, there is the registration painted on the underside of the left wing. Please look here: You can just make ...

Hi Sjoerd, Happened to me as well... somehow, the swsafir.gau in the \Gauges folder didn't get updated when I installed Update1.exe. Can you please check the date of the swsafir.gau? If my memory serves me, the date should be Sept. 8th. Regards, Jure P.S.: Thanks for the pics, I'll get back to you A...

Sjoerd,

thank you! The readme. txt is now updated as well (thanks Alex!). My mistake, I overlooked it.

As for the battered look... yes, the PH-RLA looks brand new. in fact :)
If you wish, I can send you the two textures without the bumps? 2.1Mb zipped...

Hello Alex, I installed the Safir in my secondary FS installation called "Flight Simulator 9 VFR" which doesn't have an entry in the registry. The swsafir.gau never got updated when I installed Update1. Tried a few times to no avail. Funny thing is, that the .cab file was updated... Today I reinstal...

Hi, is it just me or is the directional gyro in the HB-DBL model wrong? The calibration knob doesn't work and the direction indication differs from the compass by 180 degrees. I installed and re-installed the patch and I am sure that the files were updated (I have made a backup of all Safir files be...

Sjoerd,

thank you. :)

Looks like the forum limits one's uploads; I got the same message after I posted first two pictures. I now upload pictures on my own web space (free with my internet provider) and simply post a direct link within my messages here.

Updates ready

The updated PH-RLA and G-HRLK have been sent to Sibwings and should appear in the Freeware section soon. :) Changes: - corrected inscription on the fuselage (PH-RLA only) - added lettering on the fuselage (PH-RLA only) - Orange parts are redder now (PH-RLA only) - added the slightly battered look to...

Beautiful shots, Zane! :)
How's the Safir doing at such high altitudes? Haven't yet had the chance to fly in the Alps (shame on me! )

Hello Sjoerd,

thanks for the correction. :)
I hope to have the modifications ready soon. And maybe the team will indeed give us another D model? :-D

Hello Sjoerd, ah, it is Volts, then. I wasn't sure. :) A paintjob doesn't include the things you mention. The rotating beacon is a part of the 3D model, as are the antennae. I cannot modify that. I will modify my paintjob for the other "D" model which is included in the Safir package (there are two)...

Hello Sjoerd, just what I needed. :) Thank you very much for clarifying the inscriptions on the Safir. For now, no more pictures are needed. I'd just like to ask one more thing: What is written under the red circle (under the large black A) on your first picture? I will modify the repaint so it will...

Beautiful repaint! This one will be perfect for my Alaskan adventures. I'm really having tremendous fun in Tongass and Misty fjords, so I'll say "Thank you" here. :) One thing, though, Bill: you might want to remove the fuel tank from the fuselage. The "D" doesn't have one (As I was reminded by Andr...

Thijs,

thank you for pointing this out! :)
I will correct it and resend it along with a few other changes I made. Funny, how I never noticed that the "U" was actually "IJ". It is quite obvious in the photos I have found. Hmm... :?

Thank you for your kind words, fellow Safir pilots. :) It's been a real pleasure painting this special aircraft. I tend to spend ridiculous amounts of time on each paint - it's like with some women: the more time you spend with them, the more you get to know and appreciate them... I am still t...

Beautiful shots, Kofi! I really like it how you use the effects on your shots. Makes them look very real life like. :)

Hm, I'll have to return the Safirs to Scandinavia one of these days. Currently I am enchanted by Alaska, just can't leave it inspite the lousy weather. ;)

Jure
