Re: Saab Safir to sell: HB-DBL, s/n 439, TAH~4800, TSO~500.
Hello Mangotango! A *bird* that wants to go home? A lady...! ;) And honestly, to me, there's no "unfortunately" about sweden. As a matter of fact, I've heard of two or three planes (not Safir's, though) that went so sweden and the dealings with the new owners as well as the swedish authorities were ...

Mangotango, Thank you for your kind words...! For those, that haven't seen the DBL yet (then what the heck are you doing in these boards anyway? ;) ), here's the official had, which my friend and co-owner Roger Pross has set up at planecheck We'd also be glad, if you'd spread the word... Thanks for ...

Re: Fuel tanks on Safirs that were ferried to Ethiopia
Might be a bit late, but nevertheless... If I remember right, those planes were a batch of 12 aircrafts that were quite special. Saab had already switched to manufacturing of the C-model and already had a batch of wings, but still B-fuselages. Practical as they are, they simply fitted a valve in the...

Re: Saab Safir to sell: HB-DBL, s/n 439, TAH~4800, TSO~500.
I've had a meeting with my co-owner and we went over the "final-figures"... It appears the math of our expenses for the restoration was quite on the conservative side... We are looking for 70'000€ as a start for negotiations, and we're open for suggestions! I hope we'll see it flying again soon, eve...

Saab Safir to sell: HB-DBL, s/n 439, TAH~4800, TSO~500.
Hello everybody! Sorry for my absence here! My priorities in life have changed, which drove me away from flightsim-business to other things. Like flying rc-helicopters, preferrably turbine-driven ones... ;) As my friends priorities have changed even more - moving his home further away from airport, ...

Just for information... It appears the HB-DBL will not be able to participate in the fly-in. We had the engine to get repaired (chips in oil due to corrosion on tappets due to non-conserved storage before we took over the baby over...) and pulled on our financial side. Furthermore, I had some change...

Michel, I am not affilitated to Sibwings except than to have provided lots of materials on the Safir as well as having tested it... May I ask: What's your problem? The way I read it, the problem appears an email that was lost somewhere. Which can be fixed quite easy... But it appears to me, that you...

Hello Thomas! Maybe a little late, but nevertheless... The following comes from the austrian's aerobatic-education-guide to the Safir-D. For a looping, you need to dive first. Approximately 20° Nose down. At 140KIAS you enter the looping, which will result in around 3,2g. On top, you must push the s...

Heya, Per! Saab 91D Safir GTX... :D Seriously, yes, we thought about experimental and also historic. But those two categories are not really defined in the same manner in different countries... Problems we encountered: In Switzerland, you cannot convert an aircraft as a whole to experimental, only c...

Hello Dave, It is indeed not strange, but really genius... Maybe it still requires a mechanic which preps the aircraft, but having the cowl flaps adjustable on ground means that you can adjust to the current OAT. Since normally you have *roughly* the same degration of temperature with increasing alt...
Alex, what he means... Thank you very much for the update, but... -The landing gear still has 2 bugs (nosegear at retraction, maingear at extension) -You still can't see the trim working on the outside view. A note for all the other: I did just translate, I am *neutral* to the report of those bugs, ...

franco, That point has also been risen during beta-test. As a matter of fact, we did not have the funding or sponsoring, to get high-quality sound-equipment in a Safir and start flying around just for the joy of sound. As a matter of fact, i was close to get a friend of mine with the right equipment...

Hallo Wolfgang! Thema "weisse Fläche" hat Alex schon die Lösung gepostet... Das Licht heisst übrigens Navigationslicht. Hello, fellow enthusiasts! :) David, I already pointed this topic out to the team during beta. And I also had the same idea as you had (thinking of subwindow for each avionic and another one for the switches in the DBL)... And I was in the same way enthusiastic, as you are... But I became convinced ...

First movie... ;)
Hello, fellow Safir enthusiasts! Today, I've met only with a collegue of mine on a flightsim server, because he asked me to talk to him about the Safir, getting some information and critique across, since he has to review it... Well, one word lead to the other, and soon, I had another friend of mine...
