Re: Installation error

Hello there, We are working on problem, looks like it's something depends on simconnect.dll if something installed wrong (windows, FSX, SP1, SP2 etc.) simconnect doesn't work, and safir gauges (sounds visual) doesn't work... very few users have such bug, (less then 1% I can say.. in most cases SP2 ...

Re: Installation error

Yes, installation worked for me too! Thank you. However, I now get an error message - 'Cannot set allocations' when I try to select any of the models and if I try to fly any of them the textures disappear (except a little brown torso!) after a few seconds and it all goes quiet before I get a black s...

Re: Installation error

I did, yes. I tried doing everything as administrator and the error message was the same. It's the only add-on I've had an issue with since I began installing FSX and all the various sceneries and aircraft yesterday morning.

Re: Installation error

Thanks Alex, I tried that. Also tried running init.exe from it's install location but got the same error message.
I'll keep checking back to see if it's been fixed. I'd hate to lose the Safir after finally switching to a new PC that can handle FSX

I think this is my favourite paint so far - thank you.
I do slightly wish it had a civilian pilot though so may try copying the pilot texture over from HB-DBL.
But it's a great re-paint - thanks again

You don't 'open' the back window, you jettison it! Once it's gone you have to land and go and look for it

Also, if you (accidently of course) open the canopy mid-flight the 'canopy-open' sound still repeats until after you've landed. I think the taxi speed/canopy open limit could be increased just a little more too!

Speaking only for myself here - I don't want to know. I want to be very pleasantly suprised again as I was with the Safir. There are so few pleasant surprises left in life these days - I think it would be better not to know until the day it's out. And there's nothing more tedious than having to plou...

Lovely. I noticed that one on Airliners.net just the other day.

As for the amount of shine I'd say a couple of pegs down from mirror finish - like it was polished just a few days ago and it's beginning to cloud over again. Not too perfect but not too dirty either

Canopy opening

Of course I understand that you cannot open the canopy during flight but it would be good to be able to open it during taxiing. At the moment you have to bring the aircraft to a complete stop before you can open the canopy and I have a longstanding habit of taxiing to parking with the door or canopy...
