Re: Cessna L-19/O-1 Bird Dog flight behaviour

No screams, just a bit itchy to try her out. :P

Well now that the update's out I hope the people who were questioning the FDE have some feedback? Does she fly by the numbers, better on take-offs, has proper spin characteristics and all that?

Re: Cessna L-19/O-1 Bird Dog flight behaviour

I'm trawling too, waiting for the update and feedback before deciding to buy it or not. Quiet forum lurkers unite!

No news for quite some time. Any news on the development? What unforseen stuff is delaying the release? Is the FDE programmer on vacation? Anything?

Re: Windows 7

I'm bumping this, because I'd like to get mine working too. I'm on W7 RC too, but 32 bit version. I'm quite sure I won't be getting the Bird Dog if not even the Saab doesn't work on this OS.

Re: Engine damage?

I'm sure you're right, I've never touched any one of the mentioned engines. But I imagine them to be managed similarly by the pilot, which is my simming focus - not what goes on under the bonnet but what happens if I "floor it", point the nose at the sky holding just above stall speed, without openi...

Re: Engine damage?

Yup, two cylinders more worth of horsepower. Operations and how they function seem to be pretty similar though: Cub: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continental_A-65 Bird Dog: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continental_O-470 The addition of cowl flaps (and prop control?) does make the temperature managem...

Re: Avionics switch, and VOR1 radio frequancies

Check what the tooltips say. Could be the same issue as with the ADF in this thread: http://forum.sibwings.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=688 These avionics have some pretty "serious" bugs, not vital or stealing anything away from the aircraft itself, but damned annoying I'd think. I'm really surprised th...

Engine damage?

I've read that there's no damage modelling on the Bird Dog. I'm a bit reluctant to buy it because of that. I bought your Safir, and it's absolutely gorgeous looking and the "feeling" is fantastic. But i don't fly her often anymore, probably due to lack of realism in engine management. I'm afraid tha...
