Re: Cessna L-19/O-1 Bird Dog flight behaviour

oh yes! I did not mean that as a criticism! :) I do like your flight dynamics and I think it's great that someone is trying to improve this plane. The flap drag: lift ratio has been off ever since the plane was originally released. Cessna's have the barn door fowler flaps, which add quite a bit of ...

Re: Cessna L-19/O-1 Bird Dog flight behaviour

Yeah I tend to agree the flight dynamics are pretty solid; but with room for improvement. The flaps produce too much drag and too little lift when compared with the real airplane.

Re: Suggestion?

oh and is there anyway we can get a stall horn on this plane? It tends to scream at you even when landing.

Suggestion?

I was wondering if it sounds possible to add manual flaps to the "A" model on the next update? I know it may be hard to do, but it seems like it would add to the realism of this already awesome package. Btw......the O-1E is IDENTICAL (interior wise) to the one I fly. Great job!

Re: Propeller Question

hm. that is quite strange. does the constant speed prop make it noticeably faster in cruise than the fixed- pitch climb prop variant?

Re: Propeller Question

Oh and about the flaps: I've tried some stalls at altitude with the flaps down to 60 degrees and have landed several times with them all the way down (most people don't recommend doing that) and I can say it is A LOT of drag. I don't have a lot of hours in the type (about 70 hours now), but this is ...

Re: Propeller Question

Thank you! I think I'll go ahead and get this one then. It sure does look great in the screenshots. And I'd be happy to test out a new flight model.

Propeller Question

Hello,

I occassionally fly an L-19E.....and am looking at purchasing the Bird Dog here for FSX. I was wondering, does the "A" model have manual flaps? And does anybody notice a cruise difference with the O-1F model with that constant speed prop?

Thanks,
Gfat

I too would like to see 9H-ACA or something of that nature from the Armed Forces of Malta.

Re: New images

I can see that a copilot has been added. Will there be a load manager to choose the payload (copilot, rockets, etc.)?

Propellors

Hi. I currently fly an O-1E. I was wondering if there will be an option for a constant speed propeller on the simulated model.
