Reporting back. After a system upgrade and a complete FSX and An-2 re-install this problem has disappeared. Same OS, same AV, same hardware except the CPU. Only difference I could think of was to right click the installer and tag the "run as administrator" box and then install as "administrator". So...

Further tests with identical results, FSX does not crash after An-2 use, but stays on. It has to be killed through task manager. Finnish is active language of OS.

Well, at least a change after Russian language pack. FSX did not switch off at all. Had to kill it via task manager.

With aircraft I've done the same as you suggested. With scenery I think the sim loads only those you fly regardless if they're active or not.

This shouldn't be too difficult to patch if it is only this single tweak.

I changed DisablePreload to 0 and the experience was most discomforting. I had to wait ages for choosing scenery and aircraft, they just kept loading. So, no thanks. Got to be another way.

I think Basti has pointed out quite exclusively that this is a far deeper problem than some fsx tweaks. I don't keep this addon installed until a cure is found. It certainly does not help to maintain a stable sim if it crashes everytime it is shut down.

Disablepreload is one of the crucial FSX tweaks. It would be too much to ask to give it up.

Sounds really good, its a pity keep this pearl unused.

As I have stated, I did a FSX reinstall. At the moment only T-38 is installed from the Milviz stable. So it must be the F-15 with those extra modules. The rest were installed before in my previous An-2 installation.
